FLOWER MOSAICS ~ YULIA'S MOST POPULAR WORKSHOP

Add beauty to your space by creating a mosaic flower! In this immersive workshop, you will learn how to create a mosaic that shows the individuality of each flower. In the process, you will learn how to choose an appropriate design and create a color reference chart with gradations and alternative color options, create an expressive center of the flower, and shade petals using a realistic technique.

We will also cover flower andamento and discuss substrates, adhesives, and glass-cutting techniques, including Yulia’s signature brush-stroke cut. After completing the flower, we will explore several approaches to creating a background that enhances and supports the main subject.

The workshop begins with a visual presentation and hands-on demonstration, followed by individualized instruction, one-on-one demos, discussion, and ongoing project assistance throughout the course.

The course is limited to 12 participants.

Cost: $450, including supplies ~ 10" x 12" substrate, glass, adhesive, handout for your to print out, and 2 designs to choose from (unless you would like to use your own and show it to Yulia).

 Yulia Hanansen is a second-generation artist. Having mastered many techniques including mosaics, printmaking, drawing, painting, textiles, and more, Yulia has been primarily working in mosaics, prints, and painting. She takes pride in her ability to be able to create art in a variety of media and in a vast array of themes she comes up with. Her Mosaic Sphere Studio, LLC was the first mosaic studio/gallery in the state of Michigan to show and represent mosaic artwork. Studio has evolved through the years to offer not only unique mosaic artwork, but also prints, paintings, and drawings. Studio is currently located in a charming city of Baltimore, Maryland, USA where Yulia works  and lives.
